A couple of additions to the Girl's Bedroom...

So last year we did the GIRLS ROOM OVER ON A BUDGET and I thought I'd share what we'd added since then...

Brett's lovely sis had bought Stass this collage photo frame a couple of years ago for her birthday but I had been the world's slackest mum and not put any photos in it!
So I got that out and printed photos off to pop inside it.
I also bought some raw letters from Lindcraft that are the girls' intitials (Stass had requested this) and painted them black. I think they cost under $3 each...

Close-up of the frame and photos...

Last year we bought this cute little STORAGE CUBBY FROM FANTASTIC FURNITURE COSTING $34.95. It's a good little alternative to one of the similar Ikea cubby's that cost that bit more.
Each shelf has something special just for Zippi (since Stass has bookcases on the other side of the room and her storage boxes for her special treasures!)

Felt food from Ikea in a basket...

I got this cute little pink platter thingy (that's the proper name for it! lol!) from an op shop for $8 and it houses Zip's dress-up beads she got for her birthday last year. Next to that is a little matching cup which a dear friend of ours gave to Z when she was born. This houses the girls curtain tie backs which are just some spotted ribbons...

Next to these is her fraction cake (Aldi)...

Another shelf has wooden food on a tray (also from Aldi a little while ago) - Miss Z loves playing with these!...

Another shelf has a little Princess basket (Target) that I picked up for $5 and houses her little pink books that she got in a set. She carries these around the house and looks at the pics.

Underneath that is a fabric storage box ($4.95 Go Lo) that houses chunky board books...

And on the shelf below is a little pink box with some fave stuffed toys and dolly's :)

A couple of other additions to the room...
This set of babushka dolls (poor dolly number 4 down the line had a little accident with the tiles and kind of ahem cracked her head open. I tried to fix her with glue but man they are hard to fix!) Anyway, these it next to the girls' tea set now. They were only $10 for the little wooden cuties. I thought that was a bit of a bargain!

We bought this little storage cube to store more books in which was $4.95 from Kmart and has a little soft top on it. Next to it is a mini reading chair which Zip likes to sit in.
The only thing I regret about this is that originally we had it near a wall and it made a nasty mark that has to be mended. If you buy one of these chairs....don't put them close to a wall in case they mark it!

And the last addition was this little pair of hooks (2 hooks for $5 from Aldi)...
So there you go....
some little additions to the girls' room :)
They spend quite a bit of time playing in there together and I think it is a lovely little space for them.
It's not very fancy to some, it didn't cost the earth and yet they really like being in there playing.
Makes it worth the little bit of effort :)

More another time,

Your an expert at finding and buying all the budget priced items perfect for a childs bedroom. Why is it I can't find those sorts of bargains when I need them? LOL :)

I love the photo frame and all the cute pink items, everything looks so pretty.

I also love seeing all the photos of your children. They are growing up so fast and looking smarter and more beautiful in every photo, well done Lusi. Your a wonderful mum. Thanks for sharing on your blog :)

Have a great week ahead and keep warm. From Susan McGuire.
