Our first Shabbat Gathering :)

Yesterday we had such a lovely joyous shabbat (sabbath)!
It was our first one meeting with others in our own home to celebrate this beautiful restful day together.
I love the following passages of scripture and they greatly encourage my heart as I reflect on what a special joy it was to gather with other believers on God's appointed Day for Sabbath (Leviticus 23).

Acts 4:32
" All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.  With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them".

Jeremiah 32:38-41

"They will be my people, and I will be their God.  I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them.  I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul".

Acts 13:16
"On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there."

Leviticus 23:3

"There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the LORD".

Hebrews 4:9

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God

Acts 13:44

On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord

Acts 15:21

For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

The sabbath, as we read about it in the Scriptures, is a time for rest, for celebration, for prayer and worship of YHVH (God) and for gathering together. It is such a special time that we have come to really love as a family.
We were blessed to be joined by my parents and other friends who are discovering this treasure of the Sabbath yesterday.

We enjoyed fellowship together...

everyone bought something sweet/savoury to share for afternoon tea...

reading and discussing...

listening to one another...

and sharing our hearts and the Word...

We proclaimed the name of Yeshua during worship...

with everyone joining in singing + playing instruments...

the kiddos coloured in some sheets from this week's Torah portion and loved being in the midst of this style of 'church' gathering...

Everyone bought their own dinner for their families and some ate inside and others outside. It was just lovely and casual :)

I really just wanted to document (in photos) what a special time we had all being together in the freedom and liberty that we enjoy being disciples of Yeshua :)
May the Name of Yehovah, our great God be praised!

Well, more another time soon.
Much love,
Lus x
