Yay... It's Preparation Day!

It's like a triple preparation day today for me!
1. Preparation for the regular weekly Shabbat (Sabbath)
2. Preparation for the Shabbat for Day of Atonement (which we will celebrate tomorrow)
3. It is Elijah's birthday on Sunday and we are having family to celebrate (and a few friends today to celebrate)

So, I have LOTS to do!
Brett is taking the boys + their closest mates to a cafe for a celebration morning tea today. So while they are gone, Stass is going to do some homeschooling + organising/cleaning with me.

So tasks to do today:

1. Clean Kitchen
2. Clean our Bedroom
3. Clean both Bathrooms
4. Table
5. Washing x about 3 loads
6. Vacuum loungeroom
7. Maybe Mop Kitchen

1. Bake cupcakes for Brett to take to the morning tea today (lactose/additive free/low salicylate)
2. Vegetable Soup (dinner fri) We are doing a Daniel-style fast (of vegies and water only) as part of our Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) celebration
3. Cut up vegie boxes for Shabbat snacks
4. Cut up vegies for slow cooker soup to put on tomorrow

1. Go fruit + vegie shopping
2. Homeschooling Diary - must update
3. Homeschooling work into plastic sleeves + into portfolios - Stass did some
4. Must call Sumi!

1. Print off colouring in books for the kids
2. Write out the prayer-point cards to pass around: going to do these tonight as I reflect
3. Our High Priest (our theme this year) craft drawn up + ready to go: decided not to do this
4. Verses printed up Yeshua (Jesus) being our High Priest and verses from the Tanakh (Old Testament) about the High Priest's duties: going to write these up tomorrow together as we read from Scripture
5. Hmmmm anything else He puts on my heart today for the feast!

So, I'm off!
Hope you have a really blessed day in all you do.

"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Yehovah (the LORD) determines his steps"
- Proverbs 16:9

Love + blessings,

Look like you have a lot of work ahead of you!

My husband and I fast from both food and beverages on the Day of Atonement. However, for our kids (ages one and four) we do similiar to what you are going to do this year. We allow them only raw fruits and veggies and water (and maybe a little fruit juice) that day. They are little, so I do not limit their quantities. We started that when our oldest was one and it seems to work well so far - plus it is a lot easier for me - just cut their fruit/veggies, put it in a muffin pan (we have silicone star-shaped pans we use for this) and the girls help themselves without needing me to get them food all day!

Have a blessed holy day season.
