a massive weekend....

and i'm only just catching my breath now to post about it! lol :)
friday night we all went out to watch brett play in his basketball grandfinal...they came second which was a great achievement - we were all really proud of him + his team.
What is with zippi's hair in this photo? lol so cute!

did a cool unit of study on volcanoes last week which the kids LOVED....

found a great little resource on line for Stass which was a volcano shapebook: FOUND HERE which i got from ABCTEACH DIRECTORY.COM
We also did an experiment from our new 501 science experiements (with thanks to Sarah for recommending this to me! Ta mate!) Mum + Dad were here and helped out with the videoing and stuff which was really just filled with us laughing since liji thought it would be an awesome idea, second time round, to tip ALL of the white vinegar over the bi carb - lol :)

Making the volcano with 40kg's of sand....

Tipping in the food colouring (lava) into the medicine cup (crater) which already had the bicarb in it...
watching the lava come out when the vinegar was tipped into it all + watching the chemical reaction take place...and the other thing dad and i were cracking up at were the mess the kids made at just one little experiment!!! like the STAINED hands of eth from the food colouring... love it :)
Us just hanging out at Dannii's (brett's sis) 30th birthday party. Happy birthday Yelsie! It was a great time. celebrating her life so far...

Zip wasn't so happy but Liji, Dannii, Brett's lovely parents are here in this pic...we all had a lovely arvo...

special birthday hugs shared between nephew and his loving aunty. so sweet...
Here's Brett's brother Pete + his beautiful family. We loved hanging out on Sunday with you guys. SO lovely to catch up again and hopefully it won't be long before we can come out and have a visit...

Nan, Big Poppy, Coral + Pop...And the cousins together again :) ...

How sweet is this little bubba of ours who wants to eat her toes at the moment? She is one gorgeous little girl :)
these are the orchids that my daddy gave me a while back. and i *heart* spring so much :) yummy yummy spring. what a fantastic season! thanks dad :)

and here is a camouflage moth that looked like a leaf - isn't it incredible? We thought it was cool...

And under the wing liji spotted the moths green eggs. very cool :)

5 things I am thankful for today:
1. The dust storm - reminded me that this life is so fleeting, that anything can happen + that my hope is in the Lord + in heaven
2. Sweet potatoes - what a great vegetable lol my head is so random
3. Watching our wedding video today with the kids + remember what we've gone through together
4. Wii fit
5. Hanging with the Colman's + Sharon's encouragement to me with homeschooling.
More another time.
Lus x

That volcano looks fantastic!!! I was just looking at a volcano kit yesterday where you make the volcano cone with plaster and paint it, then you can reuse it as many times as you want, but that big sand one looks way more fun :-)
