Casting Crowns....

Last night Brett, myself and some of our friends went to be apart of a worship experience with CASTING CROWNS who are one of my favourite worship bands of all time. They are from Atlanta, Georgia in the Southern states of the USA. Our mates Ben and Arley bought us tickets to go which was such a blessing. Others from our church also went and the place was sold out. It was an incredible experience as God's presence dwelt there in the midst of challenging and edifying worship songs, prayer, testimony and scripture.

The lead singer Mark Hall shared from Psalm 1 and encouraged Christians to really walk with God; not just say the right words, 'look' right on Sundays but leave God in the church. He said, when the storms of life come, you can't lean on your pastors walk with God, or your favourite worship band's faith, or any of your friends to get you through; it comes down to a walk with Jesus - you and Him. He also shared that its not enough to just hope that God is loving enough to one day 'love' you into Heaven. Because He is a just and righteous God, He explained that we need to confess our sins to Jesus, leave them at the foot of the cross and walk away - the other way - (which is repentance). And because He is loving, when we do that, He will forgive us our sins and make a place for us in His Kingdom of Heaven with Him and His people.

It doesn't matter what we've done in our past; He is strong enough to take it all.

Here is an excerpt from the album 'The Altar and the Door' blurb:

Song: What This World Needs:

Galatians is the main basis for this song. False teachers were slipping in and adding to the Gospel. Jesus + being good = the believer’s life. Paul builds in a foundation for the Galatian people that it is by faith in Jesus that we are saved. Even today, we, the church, are in danger of adding to the Gospel. Jesus plus my denomination. Jesus plus our style of worship. Jesus plus good behavior. We must be careful not to strap ourselves to the Gospel.~2 Corinthians 6:3-13 / Colossians 1:13-23 / John 17 / Romans 12:9-21 / Matthew 7:1-3 / John 7:24 / Romans 16:17-19 / Philippians 3:18-20

Lyrics:

What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind
Another two bit politician peddling lies
Another three ring circus society

What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that’s better than you
Another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth
Another prophet in an Armani suit
What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love them in their time of need
A Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love
That’s what this world needs
What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside
Have we become so blind that we can’t see
God’s gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt
What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance
Blending in so well that people can’t see the difference
And it’s the difference that sets the world free
Jesus is our Savior, that’s what this world needs
Father’s arms around you, that’s what this world needs
That’s what this world needs

The church (me and you + everyone else) really need to hear and heed these kind of lyrics hey.

5 things I am thankful to the Lord for today:

1. Brett's family being able to watch the kids for us
2. Ethan saying to Brett this morning, 'I can read the Bible now' as he takes Stassi's bible in his hands and flicks it open and then shuts it again! Soon matey, soon!
3. Brett doing the shopping with the boys yesterday for me
4. Hanging our with Ben & Arls & the concert
5. My lovely chat with Aunty Anth yesterday! Yay!

sounds like the true gospel being preached...praise God. Hold into that, christians. Know the true gospel and in these dark days, reject anything that deviates from it.

I've turned green! Love Casting Crowns and had no idea they were touring, are they going to Melb?
Just got my pc fixed as it had died, and although not quite the way it was, it feels so much better being re-connected, esp. with work going back.
Love Gail
