Passover 2012

So yesterday (Friday) we celebrated Passover.
This was the 6th year we'd celebrated it.
You can check out last year's post on it HERE.

Normally we host something here but this year, we just celebrated as a family during the day and were invited to hang out with our mates The Fountains and the Mostyns to celebrate.

To us, it is a wonderful memorial of Yah's instruction,
"This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to Yehovah (the LORD) - a lasting ordinance." - Exodus 12:14

We remember how, with a gracious heart He heard the cries of His people and with a mighty hand delivered them out of Egypt from the yoke of slavery. Yeshua, our Messiah, delivered us from the bondage of sin and death bearing the sins of the world in His flesh for us. This is what we believe by faith.

So over lunch on the back lawn, we read through various passages of Scripture (Exodus 12, Leviticus 23, Luke 22 among others) and discussed them.

Then it was time to head off to Katie and Michael's.
The kids wanted to dress up before we left but changed out of their costumes pretty much as soon as we!

Poor Zeeki was having such an off night (teething badly I think) and so I went for a drive with him for a bit to help settle him.
The other kids had a blast being their normal VERY energetic selves.

Thanks Michael and Katie for your hospitality and Ben and Jas (and Sophie!) for organising the lamb and other things. It was a very special time gathering with you guys.

I have posts planned for each of the days of Unleavened Bread (or at least when I can!) but bed calls now.
More soon and Shabbat Shalom :)
