Feast Of Tabernacles - Sukkot 2011 Fellowship

For the past 3 years that we have celebrated this beautiful joyful feast, we have been warmly invited and included in our special friends' Heiko and Lori's family celebration.
Lori's extended family get together and celebrate this (and other feasts) together and have done so for many many years.
We have been so loved by this family and we SO look forward to getting together with them all each year at this time.
It's like a big family reunion that we are apart of too!
These girls feel like my sisters too and Lori's mum is like a second mum to me.
{Most of these, if not ALL of these photos, were taken by 'J', Lori's lovely 15 year old homeschooled nephew - thanks 'J'!}

Anyway, as usual, Heiko and Lori prayed and prepared and put on a beautiful feast for us all.
A snapshot of our Shabbat together...

Yummy food (homemade falafels, wraps and salad with all the trimmings)...

Picnic lunch outside...

We were so glad that the sun came out!
Here are the beautiful Heiko and Lori...

There was tree climbing...

and sword fighting...

and a beautiful time of reading scriptures and learning about the parallels between
Jewish wedding customs and things mentioned in the Word about us and our spiritual Bridegroom!
Heiko and Lori even bought EVERY single person their own clay oil lamp and oil all the way from Israel! We then acted out the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins. The time ended with some worship...just beautiful! And check out the beautiful banner Heiko made - he did such a FABULOUS job!

There was dessert (homemade cheesecake)...

swinging on the massive backyard swing...

And as always, there was dancing!!!

After the kids' had had a turn, some of them sat up on the wood hut to watch...

Zippi enjoyed throwing  the frisbee around with Brett...

while I joined in all the circle dances with Ezekiel in the Ergo (his first Sukkot!) 2 years ago Zippi was in the same pouch while I danced the same dances!!!
There were some tears from some of our kids at the end before we left (but that's life!) but other than that, it was a a really fun and happy day! Actually, just on that note, that little outburst from our kids was another catalyst for me and Brett addressing our OWN attitudes in how we deal with things; especially in how we deal with our children. This often seems to happen around the time of the feasts which I find really fascinating! Praise Yah for His grace towards us all.

Thank you Lori and Hekio for such a WONDERFUL time together!

More to come soon.
Love,
