Happy 5th Birthday Memories for our Ethi...

Ok so when I picked up his birthday card (which had a badge attached...see below pic) the card was in with the 5th birthday ones but i didn't notice until the morning of his birthday that it was a 6th birthday badge! lol :) He didn't notice all day nor did anyone else but i just thought it was funny...Here's our happy birthday boy...In the morning, he came out to the loungeroom with the other kids and we had his bike set up (good on ya brett setting it up the night before) under a big blanket and here he is ripping it off... his 'big boy bike' aka bike with brakes...here he is trying it out a 7am through the house past the learning room into the back room! lol :)

and here he is with his uber proud brother who designed and made this 'bat clock' for him!

playing a game of snakes and ladders together before breakfast, which we gave to him. didn't last long like this - had to intervene before the 'nah you cheated!!!' accusations got too out of control...

we picked up his 2 friends he had chosen to go to the playland (only happens on their 5th birthdays. after 5 they get to choose a friend to go hang out at a cafe with) and this year we let Stass bring along the boys' older sister (who happens to be her friend too) so she had someone her age to play with. This family also homeschools which was lovely and meant we could go during the day. Would you believe that NOT ONE OTHER person came during the 3 hours we were there! Its usually very busy there and i couldn't believe it was our little fam, the kids friends and my parents. Amazing! So much fun too :) Here they all are fanging it down the slides (of daddy being the ring leader of all fun/crazy/silly festivities)...

little princess z enjoyed hanging out in the toddler area on her tummy commando crawling around...

this is some kind of quasi-serious pose of Brett's that i love (giggle giggle)...
safe 5th birthday cake with yummy choc (quik) butter (nuttelex) icing...
Blowing out the candles...All the kids together (obviously faces blurred for privacy)...Present from mum + dad included these super cool footy socks (ethi is football mad!) in my dad's fave colours (go parramatta!!!)I dropped the 4 older kids off at church for the kids club they go to and then Ethi and his special little mate came home for a 'big boy play date' just the two of them eating icecream, demolishing things, rebuilding things and generally just enjoying hanging out together... Mum and Dad enjoyed themselves + it was lovely of them to visit...

While the boys played, mum, dad + I played cards together. I snapped this of them which i think is really sweet...
and then we enjoyed ethi's requested birthday meal at night before poppy + sulley, pam + amanda came over for birthday cuddles + present giving. Dannii had a grid iron (which he says he wants to play when he gets older!!!) jersey made up for him from the states with his name on the back of the shirt and the year he was born...it was so sweet. She's got a matching one and he thought it was tops!!! They also kindly bought him a real grid iron...
one happy little vegemite...

and 'hut hut' in the backyard with daddy...

A very happy birthday boy.
5 things I am thankful for today:
1. Safety and peace during Ethi's birthday
2. Box of mangoes from mum and dad
3. A beautiful chuch family
4. Our kids
5. Forgiveness

More soon,
Lus x
