yesterday afternoon's swimming adventure 16.12.08

You have no idea what a relief it is to have your child who was once so overwhelmed by just being in the swim centre let alone near the water go from petrified to so excited that he is jumping into the water on his own! Maybe you have had a similar experience but I tell you what, this is the stuff that keeps us knowing that the Lord is in the business of caring for us and helping us through every step of the journey we are on with Elijah and with the other kids too :)
So much joy it is overwhelming!

I kinda understand... after a term of attending swimming lessons, and going no further than sitting on the edge, Beryl actually went into the water for the last two lessons - first with her floatie ring, and then without it! Yay! The last class she even put her face in the water!

I think we totally underestimate how frightening some things can be for children, especially, as you say, children with sensory issues.
