My Island Home

We've just returned home after 2 of the most amazing weeks of my life; spending time with my Grandmother and my entire extended family in remote rural Fiji.
I don've have words adequate enough right now to tell you how incredible it was.
I will try to at some stage.
Right now I am glad to be home but so sad to be away from people who love me so much in such a beautiful unconditional way in a way of life that is so simple yet so incredibly rich. I yearn for that way of life so much and yet am called right now to live here with family and so I feel torn.
I'll keep it short today but will leave you with some photos of our time.
Just a few photos.
I'll be doing photo-heavy posts in the coming weeks.
Hope you are all well my blogging friends.

More another time,
Lus x

Looks like you guys had a fabulous time! A great cultural experience for the kids and bonding for the whole family. Why do I have to have a boring Aussie family???? Jealous much? SOOO glad to have you back, even if the weather is so miserable. Hope Brett and Zeeki feel better soon!

How amazing and beautiful and I know that you would just LOVE being there and living that way. So so precious that you got to see your grandmother and she got to meet your beautiful family. And I see Dannii went too! What a special life experience for you all! Can't wait to hear more about it honey.

Thank you Michelle! It was definitely an experience of a lifetime. We're all still trying to slot back into normal life here but it's hard...just missing everyone so much.

Hi my friend! Yep Fiji might not be my homeland but it's definitely my heartland! Just loved every minute of being there. Dannii had a blast too and was so welcomed and loved by my family. She and Brett made some new steps for my grandmothers house and that blessed the village so much. Chat soon mate x

And lol I think you must be looking at a photo of one of my sisters (who are both thin!) I am feeling good and healthy though! Yay! Thanks for your lovely words. Cant wait to catch up!

I love this entry, it looks like you had an amazing time. I'm loving your blog, I've been working my way through after your blog was mentioned by Lauren on Sparkling Adventures (so sad).

Hi Sarah :-) Thanks for leaving a comment. We did have a wonderful time in Fiji but sadly I read of little Elijah's passing as we were leaving Nadi for Sydney. Just so devestated for them all.
Hugs,
Lusi x

Lusi, so glad you had a wonderful time in Fiji, caught up on a few blog posts. Thought you had moved already but can see the new house is still undergoing major renovations. I am planning to go to Elijah's funeral by road/car. Would be nice to see your fam sometime. Delcie

Thanks Kathy! Looking forward to sharing more when time (and energy) permits! Hope you are all feeling better x

Hi Delcie! We talk of you often; have just been so flat out lately for various reasons- renovating, preparing for the move, therapies, assessments and the like along with preparing for our Fiji trip and just normal everyday life! Never enough hours in the day!
We were so sad to hear of Elijah's passing. Can't imagine how Lauren is coping right now. They are all in our prayers. Could you please send our love when you see her? Thanks Delcie. Travel safely.

You must know that that I LOVE this! I am sure you had a ball :) Did your kids love it too?! Mine love the outside and just pottering around the place when we are in a place similar to that one :) xx Donna-Lee (& Andrew in Brissie)
