A snapshot into today...

We began with reading from the Bible...we are in Mark at the moment and read chapter 4. The kids built with lego during this and made some beautiful creations!

Then we said our memory verses out loud and I introduced a new one which is Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul & spirit, joints & marrow. It judges the thoughts & attitudes of the heart".

We had a time of worship this morning - I played the guitar, Stassi played tamborine and the boys *made* drums from wooden spoons and saucepans. We sang some favourite worship songs to the Lord. It was a beautiful time.

We headed off to the maternity clinic for my appointment - bubby is great! We are now 32+ weeks and her heartbeat was beautiful and my blood pressure was spot on. Praise God!

After the appointment, we went to a local park and had some morning tea. I had packed some pencils and the kids nature study books. They went on a hunt and collected 5 items to put into a ziplock bag each then brought the items back to the table where the kids then sketched them.
We took note of a friendly magpie and here is how Stassi saw it...

The kids played tagged for a bit too...

then once Brett arrived after he had finished work, we followed a bushwalking track down through a little rainforest and ended up here where the kids sketched the waterfall...
and then went *fishing* with stick rods!

After the boys went with Brett to the hairdressers and all came back with shaved heads (!) Brett took all the kids outside, laid down a tarp and had the kids help paint an old rollback desk (which will be for my sewing table) that we picked up at the op shop a couple of weeks back.
Stassi has headed off to the kids club at the church and I'll probably do some baking with the boys this afternoon and some reading aloud too.
So that's a more *relaxed* kind of homeschooling day around here.

I'm sure most people will think that's boring but its a very exciting time for us here where we get to see learning & living coming together in beautiful ways :)

5 things I am thankful for today:
1. The quality time Brett gets to spend with us
2. Loz Boz
3. That the Word of God (the Bible) is what judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart
4. An early birthday dinner for Brett last night with his mum, dad and sis :)
5. Wireless internet
